In 2025 U.S. president Donald Trump signed executive order 14172, Restoring Names That Honor American Greatness, containing section 4 ordering the renaming of the Gulf of Mexico as the Gulf of America. The executive order is not binding on U.S. state governments or the private sector, it simply directs U.S. federal agencies to refer to the Gulf of Mexico as the Gulf of America. On February 10, 2025, Google choose to change Gulf of Mexico to the Gulf of America on Google Maps. This Google Chrome extension corrects this imperialistic action taken by the president and validated by corporate power by masking the new name with the original and correct name, Gulf of Mexico.

Restoring a Name to Grate American Honor for Google Chrome

1. Download the Restoring a Name to Grate American Honor extension by clicking the button above. Once downloaded, unzip the extension to a folder.
